i might have ADD.

i was spending my friday night scrapbooking. then i was starting a new page and looking for paper and saw some vellum from my valentine/wedding stack. then i remembered the lil project i've been wanting to do all day! i was looking for graphics all day and just couldn't decide on a picture...so i used words instead!

once again from crafty, scrappy happy! it's so cool. if you look close you can tell there is vellum there...i need to figure out how to decorate the candle. or switch the wording. i just wanted to try it and see if it would work, and it sure does.

this is how you do: print off a picture [Graphics Fairy has some cool vintage lookin ones] or phrase whatever you want on lightweight vellum [she said at office max or some office supply store you can get a 50 pack for like $7...i bought 4 sheets at hobby lobby for 59 cents each, bleh...i'll have to remember that next time!]

then you put it on the candle. i was thinking the actual graphic would be stuck on the candle but nope, the whole thing of vellum.

then you wrap wax paper around it and blow dry for a few minutes...i figured i was done when i saw the candle melting:)

maybe if my candles weren't cream it wouldn't be so obvious. i'm glad i did it on those candles instead of my red ones:P
dude. try it. takes seriously like 5 minutes.

bookshelf

soo awhile ago i used a lil trick i saw on nate to cover a wall with a sheet/table cloth using liquid fabric softener. so that's what i did with this. i didn't get a before picture but it was gray and red strips. it wasn't the best. so i redid it.

the spacing isn't awesome...i really need to stop thinking about it. but i think i like it. a lot better than before at least. i used a stencil...looks better from far away and after i glazed & sanded it:) it sucked so bad. i don't think i'll stencil anything this big again for awhile...or not with so much detail i guess...

so not all the stencil shows but it's all good.

i think it's official.

i'm out of control.

i just emailed my friend this morning saying that i was going to scrapbook today. then i told greg last night i really needed to scrapbook but i just get so distracted. here is proof.

as i went to my newly designated crafting area to organize myself so i could begin scrappin, i saw my tin laying on the ground and i remembered my idea from earlier or last night, sometime......

so i was just playing with the idea today, but i'm thinkin to buy frames that have the little stands on the back so, um, it will stand up. i have like suuper strong magnets so they are strong enough to stick on the glass over the tin. make sense?
i stuck some paper on the tin then put it in a frame. dun.
i guess it doesn't have to be a recipe holder thing...could be like a memo board just whatever you want i suppose.

then as i got back to organizing my paper and stuff i saw my corkboard L i bought last week from hobby lobby...
just did a lil mod podgin. i added it to the mantle, not sure if it will stay but for now it will.

oh dear.

new mantle.

so the day greg left [for study abroad...] i finally got him to hang up this mirror--the $10 one from savers. then i felt like i had to kinda move things around on the mantle and switch things up. this is the new look. for some of you who have seen it, some things are the same but whatev. it's ok for now but i think it's still missing something. maybe i'll go on another goodwill shopping spree:)

our little girl!
top pic: her face smashed up against the placenta & bottom pic: the "proof"
frame spray painted ivory then glazed with some brown glaze,
no more ralph lauren glaze:(
these blocks i saw on a blog [Crafty, Scrappy, Happy]--check out how she did it. it took me a couple of tries to get it to work, still not perfect but i like em.
am i out of control? possibly maybe:)

numbers!

so, this lil project kinda took awhile. i saw it on Simply Sarah's blog [or maybe it was featured on another blog? it's been so long...] anyhoo, i finally finished it. if i did it again i'd make the numbers bigger.

i was strugglin to figure out how to get the numbers on the canvas...like if i was gonna have to trace them--then how big to print them and all that. yeah. sooo i let it sit for awhile then i got a great idea. i bought a program a few weeks ago called Sure Cuts A Lot [amazing] and put all the numbers on there stretchin em and rotating em to visualize how they would be. then cut them out on vinyl! so the vinyl was kind of like my stencil.

i was pretty pleased with how it turned out. but then i took it a little bit farther. i got a sander for my bday:) and took it to the canvas. then rubbed it with some brown glaze and sanded it a little bit more. oh and the wood under the canvas made the "frame" look around the numbers. if that makes any sense. i think it looks pretty sweet and old = perfect:)
