so many mirrors! [another long bloooog]

so i'm getting out of control, yet again. a few weeks ago, whoa almost a month ago, i decided to "organize" one of the bedrooms and get rid of junk. i "organized" the closet and made room for baby clothes and junk...and i thought it was a good idea...we'll see how good of an idea it is when the day finally comes.

and yup, already bought a box of diapers. we were at costco and had a coupon k?

yup #2 already bought baby junk too. don't judge.

once the room was semi clean, i brought home my old comforter from my parents and ideas started comin. last weekend i went on a little scavenger hunt to goodwill, di, and savers to find awesome mirrors. i was failing until savers.

this lil guy was a whoppin $12.99. i almost choked when i saw that but it was cool so whatevs.

this one was $6 at the di, a little more appropriately priced for a thrift store...

back to savers, this was $7 i believe. cheap little plastic but amazing.

now this one! was heavy, i actually asked a guy to help me put it in my cart for me. i don't think he was expecting it to be so solid either. i didn't measure it but i'm guessing it's about 3 ft x 2 ft probably. $10!!! that is why i was so ticked that the cracked, plastic octagon was flippin $13. dumb.

so i painted them. not sure where they're going. i painted the little ones to match the back bedroom and the big one i'm thinkin it could possibly go above the fire place. maybe. but here ya go.

now here is the back bedroom... so far. i need more pillows. give it time. it looks so sad.

here is the table i did last week i think. and i just spray painted a basket i found in the closet:) then some law books i got at savers a few months ago and never found a place for them.

and the mirror!!! i love it. and the fan. and the WW2 books also from savers. that vase was in a box of my junk at my parents. then i wanted flowers and those tulips are the only ones the seemed to fit. they're growin on me.

lurrrvely curtains and lamp eh? bloody 70/80s that i can't escape.

ok now my newest project. good ol nate berkus again! he had this diy girl on and she used this junk.
i have never heard of it. she said you could get it at any hardware store [not true]. i went to ace and lowes. neither of them had heard of it and the closest thing they had was chrome or metallic junk. i tried it just to see if it would work. eh sure doesn't. so i called up joanns, michaels, and hobby lobby. hoblob said they had it for $11.99. and michaels said they had it, she didn't sound too sure about it but said they did for about $6 or 7. so i hit up michaels. didn't have it so i went over to hoblob and got the last 2 cans they had :) went over to savers, on my way home, and bought some picture frames.

ALLS you do is. spray this junk on glass, it says the "reverse" side, just pick a side. then you spray like 5 layers, wait about a minute between each layer. then flipper over and there's a friggin mirror! so crazy.

here are the mirrors i made. it looks a little dark, for whatever reason the flash is makin it dark and then the no flash isn't doin justice so deal.

i don't have before pix sorry. they were just wood and crazy gold plastic frames. i knew i was gonna antique em so the wood is good and crazy detailed to get the glaze in all the nooks and crannies. and of course, painted them avocado...

here ya go.

the crazy gold comin thru even tho i primed it! but i think it adds to the antiquey look.

so what i'm thinkin is all this above the bed in that bedroom. cuz that wall is quite bare. it could be too many mirrors but we shall see. i don't know what is next on my list. i really need to get to scrapbookin. aye yi yi.

spanx!

so i decided i don't want my junk all over the place as i grow in size over the next few months [apprx 6 months...] so i bought me some spanx! ...and assets!
SUPPOSEDLY you can buy your prepregnancy size and the belly part is extra loose so it stretches with your stretching belly. gross. so i gave em a try and i like em right now. hopefully the rest of my bod doesn't bust out of them!

i bought spanx like 3 years ago and buying these 2 pairs were cheaper than the one pair i bought! by like $20! i couldn't believe it and that's why i figured it'd be ok to buy 2. and i'm gonna be wearin them quite frequently so yeah, need more than one. anyhoo, i guess you could say this is my first maternity purchase. next i think i shall buy a pillow. or just use a body pillow. or one of those bella bands or whatever they're called. i've been unbuttoning my pants quite frequently.

should i tell how i found out that i was preg? besides aunt flo not stopping by, how rude of her. my friend, good ol mom taryn, told me for a few days to go buy a preg test. i was so nervous/embarrassed. then i found a coupon and ran all over town trying to find one. [ept to be exact, but any would do] i went to frys and safeway and they didn't have ANY preggers test. so i went over to walmart and they had some. i bought it and the [female] checker did a deep exhale! so i ran home, well sped home and tried to pee, nothing. so i had to wait. ALL THE WHILE i was texting taryn the minute play by play of everything that was happening. to relieve some stress i decided to dye my hair:) so i gave myself a little bleach bath then got a little jar to pee in to "fully SATURATE" before i could even pull up my pants there was the stinkin little +! i was saying "oh no no no no no no no" as i ran to get my phone and called taryn. as soon as she answered i screamed "ITS POSITIVE!!!!" and she was screaming and laughing as i was panically [<--ha is that even a word?!] crying and couldn't believe it. she was giving me ideas for creative ways to tell greg [he was at school for a little while] but i told her i had bleach on my head so i couldn't go anywhere. so i peed again just to do both then put em in a ziploc bag and put em on the table to wait for greg to come home.

he came home and talked a little then he walked passed the table, looked at it but kept walking then backed his thing up and looked at em again and said "are they both positive?!" with a nervous chuckle. i covered my mouth and started crying again as i shook my head yes. he hugged me and then we sat in shock for the next little bit.

we have gone to the doctor once to see the lil grape [now a plum:)].

i have also finished an entertaining book, that was a little on the extreme/dramatic side but i enjoyed it.
now onto my other books! my goodness this was long! so sorry.

crafty days

hey kids. so a couple weeks ago i was up at my parents house and my mom told me about this guy who goes around the country buying junk and then sells it. so we did a little shopping. after thinking about some of the stuff i felt like i kinda got ripped off and paid too much but whatevs. it was like walkin thru a semi expensive goodwill. i'll stick to the regular goodwill from now on. like one of the things i got was a percolator, looks fabulous. he said it worked and it cost $25. when he was adding up all the stuff he said he'd just charge $20. but when we got home i was adding up all the stuff in my head and he still charged $25! haha oh, and the friggin percolator doesn't stop percolating! it keeps bouncin. so it is forever just for looks and the plug was thrown away. lesson learned.

so this little beauty of a fan was $5. doesn't work. i know the guys gotta make money but come on! the thing doesn't even work! i guess i shouldn't have said "oh that's fine! i'm just gonna use it as decoration." aye. so anyhoo, i fixed er up. still not set on the colors but it will work for now. it's a pain to take apart. i might just have to paint it one solid color instead of trying to be fancy.
here are some before pictures...

and after...
very simple but i liked it. the green is avocado:) i rubbed the blades with my faux glaze. i swear everything in my house is gonna be glazed soon...i have a problem.

next up is a lurrrvely table. i modpodged it while i was in high school i believe with lil magazine snip-its. i was torn about tearin all that up and painting it. then i got ideas so i had to do it. i did it all day today. well a majority of the day. i got a sunburn too:) yay. more like farmers tan.
before:

after:

sorry, it's dark outside so the pix aren't great--once again, i used avocado and faux glaze. rubbed that baby down. i kinda like it. i was a little worried bout it but it's good for now. i just gotta figure out where to put it and what to use it for.

finally, those bloody cake stands i promised years ago. here are some pix. not quite sure why the white ones look all crooked but they're not. maybe it's the carpet. whatevs. i haven't used em yet. not sure what to do with them so they're just sitting on my shelf for now.

that's all for now. i think.
