so i wanted to decorate my house and got some ideas and had to put my homework down. i hit up goodwill and i like to think i totally scored. not only was it goodwill but half off! i have some before and afters of what i did.

Candles.
focus on the gold and black ones in the picture on the left. they came with those lovely orange "candles" but those made it to the trash, unfortunately. anywho.

they got painted turquoise, black and cream. i sanded them and rubbed on ralph lauren faux glaze in black silk [thank you vintagerevivals] to give them an old antique look. also, those books that the blue one is on are some old books i stapled together then covered with scrapbook paper and rubbed the faux glaze and wrapped string around em. the candles were all different colors but i spray painted them cranberry. i didn't feel like spending more money on matching candles. next item of business: paint that gold vent.

NEXT!

also from goodwill. it had a matching one and i
thought eh i'm fine without it. kept walkin around and couldn't stop thinking about it's twin and went back to snatch it up and a lady was lookin at it
then put it in her basket! ah that's what i get.

alrighty i painted this cream and shhhmeared the faux glaze on it. looks more of a gray now not so much cream but it's cool. reminds me of a barn. "bliss" isn't perfect but it will do for now and it doesn't get seen up close and personal all the time.
it was quite difficult to do. i'm new to this whole vinyl junk and i decided to do the lettering backwards on the back of the glass so that it would really be like the word is framed. never gonna do this again. it's a pain in the butt. if you zoom in on the s you can see junk. it difficult to get the letters/glass perfectly clean and no junk
on the letters. i will figure out another way to do it next time. my kitchen up top is painted yellow so i think it kind of makes a nice background for the "picture"

this was another vinyl done backwards.
the first time i did it i put the big L down first and then remembered that you wouldn't be able to see the r so i had to start all over. also difficult with keeping everything clean and junk. but i think it turned out well. i think it could make a good christmas present too! if people like this style of course...

this was just an old wood frame i had and painted it turquoise and gave it a nice rub down with the faux glaze. i'm quite pleased with my entry way now:)

now. halloween decor. found a new lovely blog [vintagerevivals.blogspot.com]<--where i got the faux glaze idea and she did these
things she called "junk-ins" and they're quite
awesome. i think hers look better but here is my version... to see how she did it check out her page/tutorial [hurr]

so, when i get the chance i watch the nate berkus show. not every episode is the best but sometimes it's just fabulous and makes me go crazy cuz i wish i could do everything. i will admit. i was not a fan of him replacing my bonnie hunt but i think he came at a perfect time. i love
decorating shows and i unfortunately do not have cable so i can't watch hgtv:( anywho. he was talking about goin to flea markets to get good junk. then he made like a collage on the wall with different pages from books and framed them and made a collage on the wall. i thought it looked pretty cool with maps and junk. maybe i will do that for greg sometime or something. he likes maps. so i decided to just make a collage on my wall with pix. my lil friend taryn did it at her house before, and before nate [she's cool...] but i pitched the idea to myself, taryn, and greg then greg n i made our way over to savers for a halloween costume and found frames. the most expensive one: $2.99. score. i didn't take a before picture so sorry but this is what i have. i'm starting to think my house colors are black, red, turquoise, and cream...
thanks to greg for using his man power to hang all these for me.

i'm trying to hide the bloody wood paneling.
well that's about all the crafts i have been up to. i'm trying to think of what i can do for christmas! i'm excited. especially excited for this whole school junk to be done so it can stop slowin me down!:P

schools. out. for. summer!

almost.

greg and i both have one more final left. his is on monday mine next wednesday. kinda ticked it's so far away but oh well, what can you do. he gave us all the questions so hopefully i will get around to it so i can answer all the questions right to get an A on it.

i am so excited to be done with school! i'm ready for a break. we've already made a "spring cleaning" list. this house is gonna be spit spot! that will be fun. i like deep cleaning...when i'm in the mood of course so hopefully i will be. i'm ready to get crafty again too! yay! hopefully i'll be able to catch up on my scrapbook. i need room to spread out tho! i can't junk up the kitchen table all the time! i'll have to figure out something...

greg had a final this morning at 9. a final on a saturday!! so crazy. he woke me up just before 7 so i could take him to the train. unfortunately i couldn't fall asleep when i got back home. hopefully i will be able to take a nap later.

ooo! greg got my windows tinted for my bday! i'm sooo happy bout it! i've been wanting them tinted for so long. the back has been but not the front so now it's all dark and looks so good! i couldn't stop smiling:) a little early bday present but that's ok! i took the day off of my internship for my bday so hopefully i'll be able to sleep in and relax! we'll see tho...it's kind of hard since i married an early birddd...

my mom and sister came up on wednesday to spend the day with me for an early bday fun. we went out to lunch and shopping. it was fun! i got a few new cute clothes. new capris which are necessary in the valley of then sun. well i guess shorts would be ideal but i'm not a fan of shorts. we went out to lunch at buca di beppo, i got fettuccine, of course. and it was delish. we got a free cupcake for my bday--i requested that they didn't sing. that's so embarrassing:P

that's about all folks!

blUHHHg

so, if you haven't noticed, i haven't blogged in awhile or keep up with it. i just look at other people's:P

last night i decided i should change mine up. i get mad when i start to do that because i spend so much time on it and have to figure out how to match it all up. BUT! i think i got one that's good for now.

we haven't been up to too much. school is almost over for the semester! next week is the last full week, then finals!

we have so many plans for the summer. hopefully we'll be able to do it all. my family has a family reunion this summer, i'm a little excited about that. i enjoy my family! i do want to get crafty too. i need to catch up on my scrapbook. i haven't even scrapbooked our wedding pix! aye. i should learn how to do digital scrapbooking.

stella turned one this month!:) she's a dog now. she's a small dog tho! the other day i was staring at her and was so weirded out for a minute or two that there was an animal living in our house! like it's weird. but she's fun but still an animal. i felt like madonna. [she doesn't understand having pets, or doesn't like it]

gLee. ah it's magical i loooove it. i'm so happy it's back on. i enjoy my tuesday nights on FOX. it's full of singing. american idol and glee. glee is more comical but both show some talent that i enjoy. my fave AI? crystal bowersox. she is uhhhhmazing. i really hope she wins. she has been flawless since the beginning. i'm happy they haven't changed her much--like she still has her piercings and dreds. i enjoy.

so, glee, american idol, and school is about all we've been up to!

my internship has worked out quite nicely and i have enjoyed it quite a bit. this weekend we're having a party that i've been helping out with. hopefully it turns out good!

that's all for now, kids.

etsy, i'm here! and hello, asu.

so i said a looooong time ago i was gonna put junk on etsy. well i've finally done it! i put all the cards i've made up on etsy, 30 of em. i'm not sure when i will be able to make more though! so sad. i need to start a mass production line on my kitchen table. [if you're interested/curious i'm not sure what my webpage is but search for brighteyes3] dev came over and was helping me set it up and gave me some pointers about what to make, like what's popular on etsy. so now i will have to go to JOANN'S and buy more junk. yay:D

why won't i have time? school has started. and i did have tuesdays and thursdays totally empty but now, for one of my classes, i have an internship on those days. blah. so you'd think all my free time would be spent working on my other classes. we'll see how that works. maybe i can make cards on the weekends. or if i come home early from my internship. she seems extremely flexible with schedules. i just have to get 120 hrs this semester.

my internship: i will be helping in a preschool, in the 1 year olds class! i'm actually so excited cuz that's the class i wanted to be in! i'll have to see if i'm "allowed" to change their diapers or not. i'm sure i'll be able to soon enough. yip...eee...so the preschool, as of right now, will only be on tuesdays. then i will go over to this other building and organize this lady's life for her. i will kind of be her assistant i guess. i will be doing all the things she doesn't have time for. i was at the interview and she was showing me all the things i will be doing--so i was assuming i was "hired" which was pretty sweet. and i can wear jeans and a tshirt! i'm thrilled about that. although, shopping for nicer clothes using my express coupons i got in the mail would've been nice.

this next weekend, brittany will be coming up and i offered to babysit her boys! i'm excited about that. i haven't babysat them in so long. i wonder if greg will stay home:) 3 boy ages 5, 3, & 1. that just sounds like fun. i think i'm more excited cuz they're my family and i like these boys. i don't think i'd normally be this excited. we shall see.

i'm taking an infant development class this semester too. whenever i take baby classes or learn about them it kind of makes me want one. then i come home to stella:) ha i just want one for like a day then give it back. maybe. oh dear...

so, massive storm thursday night here in THE VALLEY and our neighbors tree got uprooted and fell into our driveway. the good man that greg is offered to chop it up for them and clean it up................if he could keep the wood for free haha. he's so slick. but they were very appreciative and bought us delicious pizza for lunch and gave us a mini loaf of persimin [sp] bread. deeeeelish! so now we have a nice wood pile in our back yard.
