so i'm getting out of control, yet again. a few weeks ago, whoa almost a month ago, i decided to "organize" one of the bedrooms and get rid of junk. i "organized" the closet and made room for baby clothes and junk...and i thought it was a good idea...we'll see how good of an idea it is when the day finally comes.
and yup, already bought a box of diapers. we were at costco and had a coupon k?
yup #2 already bought baby junk too. don't judge.
once the room was semi clean, i brought home my old comforter from my parents and ideas started comin. last weekend i went on a little scavenger hunt to goodwill, di, and savers to find awesome mirrors. i was failing until savers.
this lil guy was a whoppin $12.99. i almost choked when i saw that but it was cool so whatevs.
this one was $6 at the di, a little more appropriately priced for a thrift store...
back to savers, this was $7 i believe. cheap little plastic but amazing.
now this one! was heavy, i actually asked a guy to help me put it in my cart for me. i don't think he was expecting it to be so solid either. i didn't measure it but i'm guessing it's about 3 ft x 2 ft probably. $10!!! that is why i was so ticked that the cracked, plastic octagon was flippin $13. dumb.
so i painted them. not sure where they're going. i painted the little ones to match the back bedroom and the big one i'm thinkin it could possibly go above the fire place. maybe. but here ya go.
now here is the back bedroom... so far. i need more pillows. give it time. it looks so sad.
here is the table i did last week i think. and i just spray painted a basket i found in the closet:) then some law books i got at savers a few months ago and never found a place for them.
and the mirror!!! i love it. and the fan. and the WW2 books also from savers. that vase was in a box of my junk at my parents. then i wanted flowers and those tulips are the only ones the seemed to fit. they're growin on me.
ok now my newest project. good ol nate berkus again! he had this diy girl on and she used this junk.
i have never heard of it. she said you could get it at any hardware store [not true]. i went to ace and lowes. neither of them had heard of it and the closest thing they had was chrome or metallic junk. i tried it just to see if it would work. eh sure doesn't. so i called up joanns, michaels, and hobby lobby. hoblob said they had it for $11.99. and michaels said they had it, she didn't sound too sure about it but said they did for about $6 or 7. so i hit up michaels. didn't have it so i went over to hoblob and got the last 2 cans they had :) went over to savers, on my way home, and bought some picture frames.
ALLS you do is. spray this junk on glass, it says the "reverse" side, just pick a side. then you spray like 5 layers, wait about a minute between each layer. then flipper over and there's a friggin mirror! so crazy.
here are the mirrors i made. it looks a little dark, for whatever reason the flash is makin it dark and then the no flash isn't doin justice so deal.
i don't have before pix sorry. they were just wood and crazy gold plastic frames. i knew i was gonna antique em so the wood is good and crazy detailed to get the glaze in all the nooks and crannies. and of course, painted them avocado...
here ya go.
the crazy gold comin thru even tho i primed it! but i think it adds to the antiquey look.
so what i'm thinkin is all this above the bed in that bedroom. cuz that wall is quite bare. it could be too many mirrors but we shall see. i don't know what is next on my list. i really need to get to scrapbookin. aye yi yi.
