i'm board.

more boards. yay.

i'm pretty pleased with this one.
painted it green, then cream, gave it a good rub with brown and black glaze and sanded. ["in wonder" is brown vinyl]

[no flash pix]

this one i'm not a huge fan of soooo i think she's gonna get redid.
the sander got a little excited and took off too much of the S
i used black glaze on this one too. didn't do a whole lot. it looks orange but it's coral. i think cuz the glazed darkened it a bit made it more orangey.
whatevs. it's coo. still have about 3 more to do! woot woot. prob not this week tho. well maybe one more today.

bow board

taryn and i made a bow board yesterday. turned out pretty sweet i think. now i just need bunches of bows to clip on it!:D

thanks taryn!

dream in color

so i found a new blog [Redefining C] yesterday and decided to copy some ideas. not this exact quote, but style i guess. she used a lot of cabinet doors and so i was searching for a cheap place to get them. then i kept reading and she said she got them at ReStore [Habitat for Humanity]. i googled it and found one just down the street!:) yay. greg and i went down to check it out. doors: $2, drawer fronts: $1! i got a few doors and this is one i did. the other ones are bigger so i'm not sure what to do with them yet. i want to go back [tomorrow perhaps?] and get more doors this size or smaller.

it took me awhile after i finished it to really like it but i think i love it now. it is a little hard to read but i still like it. i have some other ideas already drawn up, i just need more doors! i'm thinking about selling them too on etsy or facebook. whatevs. not sure about prices yet.

i think i got a little carried away with the sander so it makes "dream" a little harder to read but it adds to that weathered look i suppose.

if you want it, name your price. or if you want something similar but with a different phrase/quote i'll do it!:)

the belly has arrived.

here are some bump pix for whoever's viewing pleasure. enjoy.

stripes aren't exactly the best thing to wear with a growing belly but whatevs. oh and it's gonna be like 103* today. wonderful.

i might have ADD.

i was spending my friday night scrapbooking. then i was starting a new page and looking for paper and saw some vellum from my valentine/wedding stack. then i remembered the lil project i've been wanting to do all day! i was looking for graphics all day and just couldn't decide on a picture...so i used words instead!

once again from crafty, scrappy happy! it's so cool. if you look close you can tell there is vellum there...i need to figure out how to decorate the candle. or switch the wording. i just wanted to try it and see if it would work, and it sure does.

this is how you do: print off a picture [Graphics Fairy has some cool vintage lookin ones] or phrase whatever you want on lightweight vellum [she said at office max or some office supply store you can get a 50 pack for like $7...i bought 4 sheets at hobby lobby for 59 cents each, bleh...i'll have to remember that next time!]

then you put it on the candle. i was thinking the actual graphic would be stuck on the candle but nope, the whole thing of vellum.

then you wrap wax paper around it and blow dry for a few minutes...i figured i was done when i saw the candle melting:)

maybe if my candles weren't cream it wouldn't be so obvious. i'm glad i did it on those candles instead of my red ones:P
dude. try it. takes seriously like 5 minutes.

bookshelf

soo awhile ago i used a lil trick i saw on nate to cover a wall with a sheet/table cloth using liquid fabric softener. so that's what i did with this. i didn't get a before picture but it was gray and red strips. it wasn't the best. so i redid it.

the spacing isn't awesome...i really need to stop thinking about it. but i think i like it. a lot better than before at least. i used a stencil...looks better from far away and after i glazed & sanded it:) it sucked so bad. i don't think i'll stencil anything this big again for awhile...or not with so much detail i guess...

so not all the stencil shows but it's all good.

i think it's official.

i'm out of control.

i just emailed my friend this morning saying that i was going to scrapbook today. then i told greg last night i really needed to scrapbook but i just get so distracted. here is proof.

as i went to my newly designated crafting area to organize myself so i could begin scrappin, i saw my tin laying on the ground and i remembered my idea from earlier or last night, sometime......

so i was just playing with the idea today, but i'm thinkin to buy frames that have the little stands on the back so, um, it will stand up. i have like suuper strong magnets so they are strong enough to stick on the glass over the tin. make sense?
i stuck some paper on the tin then put it in a frame. dun.
i guess it doesn't have to be a recipe holder thing...could be like a memo board just whatever you want i suppose.

then as i got back to organizing my paper and stuff i saw my corkboard L i bought last week from hobby lobby...
just did a lil mod podgin. i added it to the mantle, not sure if it will stay but for now it will.

oh dear.
