beanies!

get ready for a billion pix.

the other day i got a WILD HAIR and decided to start making beanies. i think i was going thru the baby junk again and had this beanie with others and then remembered i had a beanie LOOM.

this is the beanie heather grissom made for my baby shower.

so i copied.

one of these days i'll come up with an idea all on my own.

i had some yarn and got started. i think, actually, i made the flowers first then made the beanies.

thanks to going to beauty school i have a million clips.

i forgot to take pix of the clips at all possible angles but whatevs.

so here we go.

the color of this one is called ocean but for some reason the camera made it look different with like every pic. so the pic with the orange felt flower looks the most real/true/accurate.

this is the fabric that is on the back of my bow board that taryn and i made.

black.

i took a pic of it without a flower and it looked gray.

dumb.

but black is black.

this fabric is some that i got from a place where my brother use to work. straight up african fabric. i've been trying to think of how to use all the fabric i snatched.

just yellow felt.

more fabric from where he use to work.

i think this color is called autumn red.

looks more like the one with the pink flower

the flash didn't work for this flower.

it's light pink ribbon tho.

the green looks right.

more flowers goin on here.

felt and fabric.

soft furry brown

this kind of yarn was a little more difficult and out of control from me to take the time to make the BRIM on it.

the next one i'll try.

i have a dark purple i'm gonna try next.

but yeah.

so soft.

turquoise of course.

um, it's not blue. i don't get how that happened.

keep thinkin turquoise.

super soft white.

Gray.

welp, that's all for now, folks.

i just need a model so there is a better visual instead of them just layin down. give me about a month;)

i'm gonna be putting these on etsy shortly. i need to make more and more flowers.

$10 each.

**i haven't figured out how much for the flowers, perhaps $2, if bought separately from beanie. so maybe $10 for plain beanie, $11 with flower, $2 for individual flower clips.**

let me know if you want one [some]!

these are all small, i'm thinkin baby sized.

i need to figure out how big of a head they'll fit.

or what age[s] they'll fit.

if that makes sense.

but i have all sizes so if older people want one that is fine too.

personal note.

so i thought maybe i should possibly talk about myself instead of crafts? just for an update i suppose. i'm goings to be 36 weeks this week! EEEEE! [for you taryn.] it's kinda flown by. i've had 2 baby showers and possibly one more on the way. my lil neighbor ladies wanna have one. they need to hurry before it's too late! everything has been pretty good. for the last month or so i've felt more aching and largely pregnant. i take advantage of being pregnant and being able to rest:) it's nice.

yesterday i took a bath while watching gilmore girls [it never gets old.] and making a beanie [pictures coming up next:)] this time, i took a pillow in with me. sooo comfy! pillows are like a sponge tho, i spent forever trying to squeeze all that water out. then threw it in the dryer. why have i never thought of that before, i'm not sure. but it made the bath more tolerable.

mi madre & padre were here on friday [after they flew in from missouri] and hung out for a bit. my mom and i hit up target because i'm dying from the heat, in my own house [!!!], and bought me a little fan.
[catching up on my human development too. that's the book under the itty fan]
theeeeen we just happened to walk over to the baby section. as i was reorganizing my baby clothes the other day i noticed i didn't have many newborn clothes. like maybe 5 outfits. and that's just not gonna work for me. so we bought some newborn clothes. and tried to find some pajamas. i think i'm picky because it was difficult. and a lot of them seemed like they'd be too hot or too tacky for her. but we found one. also, found a little lady bug outfit, she's gonna be a ladybug for halloween i guess!:) hopefully she still fits in newborn stuff by then. or she'll just squish into it.

now i only have a few things left on my list. we have a baby money stash so maybe one of these days i can convince greg to do some more baby shopping. he still might be in denial that there is actually a baby in this growing belly of mine that will be here shortly. but we're NOT shopping for baby crap in october. unless we like absolutely have to.
it's gonna be interesting/kind of almost fun to see how long these diapers last...
goods.
bumbo, boppy, bath, and bouncy chair.
dang, got it with all Bs.
go me.

blankets galore.

her crib.
i feel like it something is missing. maybe i should buy her some throw pillows or something:)
a swing i put together the other day.
why let it just chill in the box?!
and the matching pack n play.
with a changing station and newborn napper.
that's what it says on the box ok?
now back to the craftiness.

b*day banner

last weekend was my grandpa's birthday and my mom asked me to make a banner for it. i've never made one before but it was pretty easy actually. i found some tutes online of how other people have made em and away i went. i found some fun paper i had and cut out a bunch of triangles, used my handy dandy crop a dile to punch holes [no plain ol' hole puncher in this house], put some ribbon thru em, of course cut out the letters using sure cuts a lot[<--a must have for those of you with a cricut...no more cartridges people!], then! used my handy dandy xyron sticker maker [another must have] for ADHERE the letters. there ya go.

it was approximately 9 ft...i left excess ribbon on the ends if my mom needed it or wanted to spread out the triangles more or whatever.

yay.

gpa's bday

so my grandpa's 80th birthday is next weekend and my parents are going out to missouri for it. unfortunately since i am quite with child at the moment i cannot go.
anyhoo, i decided to make him something. i thought about a card but i like this better. i saw the idea on pinterest but of course i didn't pin it. shocking i know.
i asked my mom for some important dates in his/their life and this is what i made! hope he enjoys it!
oh, i did it on a canvas, no cabinet door here!;)

the dates are first date, my grandma's bday, his bday [in green], their wedding date, and then when they got sealed.
i think it's a cool/creative idea for dates.

busy lil B.

i had a rough start this morning. couldn't get goin, so i took a little siesta and then all this happened when i woke up.
greg is in for a treat when he gets home.

so, i do enjoy cookbooks but i don't have anything to stand em up on and i like lil cards [better] too sometimes. this is a framed piece of tin. i kept the glass over it, the magnets i have are super strong but regular magnets don't exactly work on the glass.
and it stands up, cuz, duh, it's a frame. woot.
an 8x10 frame to be more specific.
an example of its capabilities.

this one is 5x7, same deal.
except, i think i accidentally threw away the back so it doesn't stand up anymore. so here it is with a stand thing.
my size of recipe cards kinda cover up the words but it still works.
on pinterest i've been seeing lots of fall decor and i really wanna decorate. but ummmm it's still august. so i'm just getting prepared kinda.
roughed up. autumn in gold and the rest in espresso.
i just added a clear coat on it but it's still outside so no pix of that sorry.

the words are roughly 12x3.5, to give you an idea of size.
now this, i used the excess or the outline i guess of ^^^ and put it on some tin. and spray painted it with espresso. first primer, then brown. i got the idea from a blog the house of smiths and she did a tute here.
roughed it up lightly with some sandpaper.
and some green ribbon.
this use to be the sign "you make life sweet" i did awhile ago in gray and coralish whatever. i wasn't a fan so i sanded it all off and did this.
i was kinda likin the way the sand paper was makin lil scratches so i kept it goin. i started out using my sander but it gets out of control fast so i just used my hand and sanded it that way.
once again, used espresso and then some yellow.

and that was my day! phew!
time to clean my junk up.
